This building houses The Sentinel, a weekly newspaper with a circulation of 20,000 which was founded in 1968 by Howard Woods, it's publisher and editor. He initiated the "Yes, I Can" dinner as an annual charity event and fundraiser for the Sentinel in 1976. Upon the death of her husband, Jane Woods became the publisher of the newspaper and her son-in-law, Michael Williams, its editor.
